Jigsaw puzzles are a fantastic activity for people with dementia but many mainstream puzzles have complicated pictures and too many pieces. Active Minds puzzles are made up of just 24 pieces, and feature pictures that will stimulate conversation and encourage reminiscence. This makes them ideal if they find the Active Minds 13 piece jigsaws too easy, but struggle with regular varieties.
Each of the 24 pieces is made from hard-wearing plastic and is a unique shape to help the user put the picture together. The pieces can be fitted onto a framed backing board, which provides a good starting point when working out how to assemble the jigsaw.
Charles Dickens once said that the seaside resort of Ventnor, on the south coast of the Isle of Wight, was âthe prettiest place I ever saw in my life, at home or abroad.’ Stained glass artist and oil and watercolour painter Osmund Caine has captured the beauty of the town perfectly in this 24 piece jigsaw.
