Jigsaw puzzles are a fantastic activity for people with dementia but many mainstream puzzles have complicated pictures and too many pieces. Active Minds puzzles are made up of just 24 pieces, and feature pictures that will stimulate conversation and encourage reminiscence. This makes them ideal if they find the Active Minds 13 piece jigsaws too easy, but struggle with regular varieties.
Each of the 24 pieces is made from hard-wearing plastic and is a unique shape to help the user put the picture together. The pieces can be fitted onto a framed backing board, which provides a good starting point when working out how to assemble the jigsaw.
You probably recognise that this painting is a version of Monet’s famous âLilies on the Pond’, by artist Bobbi Tull. The peaceful scene is perfect for boosting calmness and happiness.
